THE CITY OF GOD'S MANDATE

The City of God Inc. tasks are to help and support (Reverends Dominic Vu, Hau Vu, Anthony Bui, and Ken Vu) in providing a place for the most vulnerable, especially the elderly, the unborn, the orphans, and the disabled whom often are victims, cast aside, and rejected by society.  The City of God is to lend a hand to build a community providing a physical home or shelter so that those who are most vulnerable in our society may never be forgotten but be able to confirm more clearly of their dignity as a human being created in God’s image thus should be treated as such.

  • First, our goal is to provide housing for the most destitute elderly which Reverend Dominic Vu has provided standards and procedures in order to help prioritize who is are most in need.

  • Second, in order to reduce abortion rate our goal is to provide shelter and support for those women who are pregnant, yet do not have the support or means to carry the child to term in hopes that the women choose an alternative method aside from abortion.

  • Third, we wish to create an orphanage so that in places where better alternative is not available they may know and experience the love, care, protection of family, and a better future.

  • Fourth, in order to care for those who are disabled, especially the orphans, a clinic or hospital should be built and whenever time and resources are available we could extend our support to those families and others who have and cared for a disabled person in their family.

  • Finally, in countries where education is not paid for by the government or too expensive to obtain, programs should be created in order to meet the needs of the orphans and disabled children.

Thus, the mandate of the board of the directors of The City of God Inc. first and foremost is to communicate to society of our (Reverends Dominic Vu, Hau Vu, Anthony Bui, and Ken Vu) visions for the most vulnerable. Second, upholding the core value of the nonprofit which was envisioned by Reverend Dominic Vu, all donations shall go directly in helping those whom donors have intended.  Unless a donor implied for the donation to be used as a means to maintain, operate, and promote, all donations will be allocated into a restricted account for caring for the most vulnerable.  All fees and other transactions occurred because of deposit or other cost of running day to day business should be reimbursed from the operations account (which donors intended for operation costs and expenses). When we said 100% of donor donations go directly to providing for the most vulnerable means, we mean just.  Only then should the board focus attention towards bringing in more donors, revenue, and suggest or recommend more effective ways to run, reduce cost, and expand.

The board have no authority to revise or hinder the vision and mission set forth by Reverends Dominic Vu, Hau Vu, Anthony Bui, and Ken Vu.  Therefore, the board of directors will have at least one of the founders (Reverends Dominic Vu, Hau Vu, and Anthony Bui) as a non-voting board member for life for the purpose of continuing to guide and support the foundation which was created by them.  In the case that all the founders should be unable to continue guiding this nonprofit corporation, it will then be entrusted to a religious order(s) with the charism and constitution to care for the elderly, the unborn, the orphans, and the disabled, automatically upon the deaths of all founders or by law which had entrusted in the case all three of the founders are incapacitated or unable to guide the board.

In the future or when time requires it, Reverend Dominic Vu will choose and provide the name(s) of religious order(s) with the help of the board.  The religious order(s) also have the right to place a member of their own religious member in the board as a voting member which will be consider “Ex Officio” according to the “By Law” and the provincial or the general superior automatically become a non-voting member while he/she is the acting  provincial or the general superior unless it’s a position for life then he/she will also be a non-voting member for life just as the original three founders Reverends Dominic Vu, Hau Vu, and Anthony Bui as advisors providing guidance for the board of the directors.

The board of Directors is the highest authoritative decision making of the non-profit and have oversight over the officers as set by the “By Law,” and to decide whether to fund or by other means by a majority vote to fund directly or indirectly the Vietnam project and others mission in the future as they see fit.
